PAPAL EXONUMIA
    The Vatican and church bigshots have been rather extraordinarily fond of striking medals and jetons from the 15th century until today.  There are thousands different types of the things.  Artistic merit of the official issues tends to be high, though some of the private knockoffs can be quite crude.
