CHINA, pottery
Pottery preceded metalwork by many centuries or maybe a millennium or so, glazing more or less contemporary with metals - higher temperatures needed for both.  High level of ceramic technology in China at an early period.  Export of Chinese ceramics carried on in the BC period, continuing until this very day.  Very big business in 15-19th centuries.
