USA, Military Payment Certificates
    For about 40 years the USA military thought that using special official scrip for in-house economy was a good idea, but they eventually abandoned the exercise.  They soon found that regular money had its own problems.  Now there is a sort of stop-gap pseudo-system of cardboard chits nicknamed "pogs" which are issued as needed for local use.  For some reason those things are really hard to find in the numismatic market.
