prose so beloved by ad and propaganda copy writers. I find hortatory
activity fascinating. Do this! Don't do that! We are
constantly being advised to do something we would not necessarily want
to do, or to not do something we do want to do, to imagine that we will
benefit or not benefit from doing or not doing that thing, as if whomever
is urging us to do that thing does not have a personal interest in the
exhortation.
This section is devoted to pushy efforts
both political and commercial, possibly at some point religious.
