PHILIPPINES
The islands that became the Philippines started out as a mixed Indonesian-Polynesian-Melanesian culture zone.  Successive forms of colonization by Muslims, Spaniards, and Americans left us with what we have today.  Political organization remains substantially what it always has been: tribal on the bottom, oligarchical on the top.  The numismatic market is active but mostly overseas.
