NEPAL,
The buddha was born in Nepal.  The main thing about the country though is that it is pretty hard to get around.  Lot of mountains.  Too many, maybe, and a little poor in resources.  You are aware of the ongoing story of the "Buddha Boy?"  Is there current information?  Anyone actually "know" anything? (Asked late 2007.)
