THRACE,
ISTRIA, c. 500 BC, bronze "arrowhead coins,"
36-42mm long. These elongated lozenges, like unsharpened arrowheads,
started appearing in the market about 10 years ago, but seem to have remained
unpublished to date, at least in hardcover "references." They crudely
approximate arrowheads in shape, but real arrowheads of the same general
time and place are much more carefully made, and are obviously designed
to pierce. "Everyone's" best guess at this time is that these were
used as coins. "F," a-d @ $34.00 each, e-f broken (for small
change?) @ $7.00 each
