GERMANY, coins of the states until the end of the Napoleonic wars
    From medieval times until unification Germany was a patchwork of overlapping jurisdictions, many of which issued coins for various regions.  At times there were hundreds of them.  There were places in which as many as 3 or 4 different authorities issued coins at the same time: the empire, the local noble, the bishop, the cathedral, the city, etc.

GERMANY, HALL
    Handelshellers are a famous medieval coin type from southern Germany.  The "Hand of God" (or maybe of the abbot who started the coinage) was copied at many mints for over a century.

SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-GLÜCKSTADT, broad thaler, 1672, for the death of duchess Sibylla Ursula.  She was a Brunswick-Lüneburg girl.  This coin was KM-75, listed incorrectly in the 2nd edition of the 18th c. Standard Catalog with date 1762.  Was properly removed from the 3rd edition but has not yet found its way into the 17th c. book.  Glückstadt typically is placed with Denmark in the English language catalogs, in Germany it is classed as German.
