PARTHIAN COINS:
    From the Iranian point of view the Parthians were rude foreign barbarians who occupied and oppressed Iran for some centuries.  From the Scythian point of view they were imminently emulable cool dudes who could handle the luxurious urban culture without going soft.  From the Roman point of view they were formidable adversaries who levied confiscatory tariffs on the silk road trade.  If I remember correctly these people invented stirrups.
